Wild Science
Wild Science is fast becoming a staple here at Kestrel House.
The activity which lasts just over an hour and a half allows the learners to have an up close encounter with animals such as land snails, snakes, rabbits, chinchillas and geckos. We remind our learners of gentle hands and soft touch as we treat the animals with respect during their visit. Every learner is encouraged to participate in the activity and it is amazing to see the therapy that our learners find in interacting with these animals. Some of our learners are able to reach a calm state whilst petting the animals and this is a vital skill that we teach our children here at school and something we can pass onto our families.
