Go big or go home! This year at Kestrel we decided to take our learners on not one, not two, but three separate trips over 3 weeks. The children loved every single one of the trips and some amazing memories were created with our learners. The children were promoted to take varying modes of transport, from coaches to buses to taxis and of course walking to access the trips as part of our Transport focus for the term.
The London Sea Life Aquarium Trip was by far the most successful of the three. Every single learner was able to access this amazing experience and the sensory environment was perfect for them. The children loved watching the fish swimming in the water and the superb light displays throughout the Aquarium created a serene and calming experience for them. The learners were obsessed with the Jelly Fish area, watching the gorgeous colours of the jellyfish swimming in the mass of blue water.
Next up we have our bowling trip to Rowans Bowling Alley in Finsbury Park. This was a new one for most of our learners here at Kestrel who have not been able to access this type of activity before. Amazingly Rowans was able to lower the music for our children to create a calmer experience for them. The children bowled some amazing games and a competitive side came out in our staff as they went head to head in the games
Finally we can never go wrong with a park trip here at Kestrel. The learners love to run around the parks and explore the playgrounds and one of our favourite places to do this is Golders Green Park in Hampstead. With a deer enclosure and mini zoo, this park provides numerous activities for our learners. The park trips were also accompanied by picnics in the sun
