We are a small and friendly independent special school for learners aged 5-16 years who have Autism, additional learning difficulties and complex needs.
At Kestrel House we recognise and value learners for their unique strengths and their contribution to our school community. We ensure that by following rigorous assessment we provide each child with an Autism friendly environment, an appropriate curriculum and Autism specific interventions to meet their needs and equip them for adult life.
Vision
Learners at Kestrel House are unique, in that they join our school with a wide scope of needs which require a very different and bespoke approach. We create a nurturing environment where learning through exploration, thinking differently and engaging in a wealth of meaningful experiences, brings learning to life; and as a school, we begin to ‘Think and Learn Differently’.
Ethos
Our ethos is simple. It has as its overarching theme our passion for nurturing learning through exposure, exploration, enquiry, thinking differently by consistently engaging our children and young people in a wealth of meaningful experiences.
